I am taking full advantage of this great weather, some solid motivation and an upcoming race goal.
I'm excited that I was able to do a 14 mile run on Saturday at Wissahickon in Philadelphia. I started with a 6 mile warm up and even mid-run I was still up in the air as to what I was actually going to do. I decided on 2 x 2 mile w/ an 800 jog in between the 2 milers.
Goal: 6 up, 2 x 2 mile @ 6 min pace w/ 800 run, 4 down
Actual: 6 up, 6:03, 6:14 (12:17), 800, 5:47, 5:57 (11:44), 4 mile cool down
It's good to know that barely two weeks ago I was running 6 x 3 minutes at 6 minute pace and now I'm running 2 x 12 minutes at that same pace.
If training continues to progress this way, I'll be all set for my upcoming race!
